Frequently Asked Questions

Polaris Intelligence

Why do you focus so much on disruptive technology sectors?

Three main reasons: 1) disruptive tech is an immense driver behind the rapid changes our societies are going through; 2) disruptive tech tends to represent exceptional investing opportunities when pinpointed early; 3) given my background in engineering, IT, and crypto, it's one of those subjects I know best and never get bored with (in other words, do what you love).

What is the North Star Constellation, and how do you choose what goes in it?

The North Star Constellation is the carefully curated list of companies, assets, and entities that Polaris uses to find relevant signals in the market and analyzing a given sector's health. The mission is to get the maximum amount of signal with minimal noise, so the priority goes to those names that represent the cleanest signals in their given sectors. To be clear, many times these names are not the fastest movers, and they don't tend to grab headlines as much as others in their sector. And that's kind of the point... the fastest movers and biggest names often come with a lot of hype, fear, and excessive speculation (i.e. "noise") that makes them less useful as signals that represent the true state and health of their sectors. Still worth tracking in most cases, but they get less weighting in the Polaris model.
